Mari:Awesome chapter. I love how you're entwining your story with BtVS season 6. Loved that Buffy stuck to her decision of not giving in to Spike's advances and that he in turn seems to be making an effort to win her back. I loved Dawn/Buffy's interaction and Uncle Rory's wish, it was fun to read them all waiting with baited breath until he formulated it. Can't wait for more.

She's just like early canon Buffy, pissed at her calling, frightened by all the responsibility she has now that her mum's gone, too wired to be able to give her sister any real attention, confused by Spike's attentions, and shocked and angry with Buffy for revealing their connection which forces her to look at demons in something other than black and white... poor kid. I'm also sorry for Anya and Xander. I had hoped that this wedding might have gone differently from canon, but ho hum... And... I'm sad for me and Buffy, because I really don't think that this Spike ever did or ever will really love Buffy above all others. William loved her the way canon William loved Cecily - a naiive, dreamt of love but not real. Spike craved his dark princess and believed that what they had was real love, and then along came Liz and his whole understanding of love turned upside down and now he's obsessed with her, but he now knows they're related so he can't have her. Just because he knows that doesn't automatically turn off feelings, but instead... the way I read it, he's cutting his losses, somewhere inside he recognises that whatever Liz has that attracts him must have come from Buffy, so if he can't have Liz, Dru no longer wants him, then he might as well secure Buffy. He knows she loves him passionately and he knows he can wear her down. Buffy's just sent Dawn back to Spike's crypt. Now Spike will make his move. Buffy's resolve will falter. Spike will press her and she'll have to agree to whatever he presses for because he's got to get back for Dawn... Buffy will then be back to being Love's Bitch... OMG how I want to bitch slap Spike right now. Anyone tell me how to bitch slap, huh? Frustrating, but perversely welcomed update.
